Am I a Good Fit?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I Coach Rob, am a track and field recruiting expert. I create national prospect rankings, offer video commentary, and advice on the recruiting process.

I answer the question “who goes where and why” in college track and field to help you make decisions that are best for you and your future.

  • I coach the recruiting process down to a system. There are 3 keys to my method. It is first about knowing clearly what you want in recruiting. Secondly I focus on identifying which types of schools are most likely to want to recruit you. The third key is to put you in position to get recruited by the right schools. The goal is always to focus on schools that offer what you want, and that coincidentally want you.

Athletes go under-recruited when they focus on schools that don’t prioritize recruiting them. As a result they not only fail to get recruited, but miss out on many other good college options at the same time.

  • I operate the most comprehensive track and field recruit ranking system. It rates all of the top athletes in their class, and keeps track of what schools they commit to. This combined with other resources made from my years of recruiting knowledge and data analysis allow me to give insight on what schools are looking for.

My advice is designed to help you identify teams that want to recruit athletes like you, that fit what you are looking for.

  • My success rate working with students and families directly is 100 percent who received college offers. But in each of those cases I work closely with them to schedule meetings and conduct phone calls to assist with the recruiting process.

Advice given is always with the best intent. However, it is up to you as a student and family to make the decisions you believe are best for your recruitment.

  • I do not personally “get students” admitted to college. But I do offer resources to coach you through the entire process. College coaches want to hear from the athletes they want to recruit. I help you figure out who those coaches are, and how to engage with them. This allows you to have the right conversations as quickly as possible.

  • Any athlete who is serious about getting recruited is eligible to work with me. Nationally ranked recruits project as division 1 caliber prospects across the more than 200 track and field programs in D1.

However, unranked athletes may still find great recruiting options outside of division 1. Regardless of what is your best fit, I can help you identify schools that can offer it.

College is a family decision. As a result I request parental involvement through meetings with all students, unless you are a college aged transfer athlete. I do not conduct individual meetings with athletes who are not at least 16 years of age or older.

I primarily work with high school aged recruits and college transfers who are ready to contact coaches immediately.

  • Any athlete who is on a varsity level track team, or club team and serious about playing sports in college can work with me. Please reach out to coachrob@scarecruiting.com if you have questions or concerns.

MEET WITH COACH ROB

Book a ZOOM meeting with me Coach Rob. The time is yours to get all of your recruiting questions answered, including what schools might be a good fit. Do not go under-recruited, and you won’t if I can help it.

“Not all college coaches prioritize developing talent. Find a coach who is less concerned with what you have already done, and is more concerned with the level they can take you to in their uniform.”
